Keep advertising on LinkedIn to employers, health plans and providers. We take the LinkedIn Insight Tag off your pages, and Hippo sends LinkedIn the demo requests and sign-ups from business pages you choose, with no protected health information. Hippo sends LinkedIn nothing from pages for patients or members. See which campaigns bring demo requests.
No annual contracts.
Transparent pricing.
We set it up for you.
LinkedIn publishes no BAA for its ad products (as of 10/12/26). Keep LinkedIn's Insight Tag off pages that collect or contain sensitive data, which can include pages offering specific health services or products to consumers and pages where people manage medical appointments.
Ad terms
Under LinkedIn's ad terms, you may not send LinkedIn any data you know or should know is sensitive, including through an Insight Tag(opens in a new tab) on a page that collects medical data.
What it sends
For visitors with a LinkedIn account, the Insight Tag reports the address of each page they visit(opens in a new tab), with the referrer and their IP address. On a domain you share with members, it reports a visit to /enroll/diabetes-program the same way it reports your pricing page.
Second feed
A UET tag on your site appears in Campaign Manager on its own, and LinkedIn can build conversions from UET data alone(opens in a new tab), so it still gets data from a site that keeps UET after the Insight Tag comes off.

Sent
Hippo sends LinkedIn only the conversions you allow from your business pages, under neutral names. Hippo waits for consent where it is required.
Excluded
Names, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth and IP addresses, plus URL paths and anything typed into a form.
Held
An event Hippo doesn't recognize stays in Hippo, so a new form can't start sending to LinkedIn on its own.
Kept
Hippo stores what it records in its own storage under the BAA it signs with every customer, with a log of what Hippo sent LinkedIn and what it removed first.
Steady spend on LinkedIn, and sign-ups that don't match what it reports.
My little company was spending roughly $10k per month on PPC directed at mental health pros. Seems perfect for LinkedIn, right? We thought so too.
I built my own code for tracking signups, and discovered that the actual conversions were a big fat zero.
A marketing tag added once ends up on pages it was never meant for.
Most healthcare marketing teams and the outside vendors they use have zero clue how anything really works on the web, so they just add this to every page. Not intentional, just ignorance.
Proposed
The company agreed to pay up to $1.9 million(opens in a new tab) to settle claims that it disclosed patients' sensitive information on its website to Google and LinkedIn. The settlement covers people who used its patient portal and awaits the court's final approval.
Proposed
Patients allege that tracking code on the health system's website, where they search for doctors and research conditions, sent their information to outside companies, and the complaint(opens in a new tab) names LinkedIn's Insight Tag. The parties have filed notice of a class settlement, which awaits the court's approval.

LinkedIn's ad terms bar you from sending it any data you know or should know is sensitive, including through an Insight Tag on a page that collects medical data, and LinkedIn counts data concerning health as sensitive(opens in a new tab). That covers medical information and consumer health data. LinkedIn publishes no BAA for its ad products, and under HIPAA, a tracking vendor's promise to remove PHI after receiving it(opens in a new tab) is not enough.
LinkedIn publishes no BAA for its ad products, and LinkedIn is not among the Microsoft services that Microsoft's BAA covers(opens in a new tab). The BAA you sign with Hippo covers Hippo. LinkedIn is outside it, and Hippo controls only what it sends LinkedIn: the conversions you choose from your business pages, under names that imply no condition, treatment or service, with no protected health information.

We take the Insight Tag off your pages and install Hippo on a subdomain of your domain. Tools you keep, like a scheduler or a payment form, keep their own code.
You also pick the conversions Hippo sends LinkedIn from them, such as a demo request from an employer or a health plan. Hippo sends LinkedIn nothing from pages for patients or members.
When a buyer who clicked your ad requests a demo or signs up, Hippo gives the conversion a name that implies no condition, treatment or service and sends it with no protected health information.
Hippo sends it from its server through LinkedIn's Conversions API, to the conversions we set up in your Campaign Manager, and keeps its own record of it by the campaign that produced it.

Federal employees allege that tracking tools on the association's FEP Blue website sent the pages they visited, the buttons they clicked and their searches to outside companies, and the amended complaint(opens in a new tab) names LinkedIn's Insight Tag among those tools. In August 2026 the court let the California wiretap claim go forward(opens in a new tab).

Patients allege that tracking technologies on CityMD's website(opens in a new tab), LinkedIn's Insight Tag among them, disclosed their information to Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft. The consolidated case is in discovery.

Plaintiffs allege that the Find a Doctor search on the vision plan's website sent their searches for doctors and services to Meta, Google and LinkedIn, and the amended complaint(opens in a new tab) names LinkedIn's marketing tools. VSP's response is on hold(opens in a new tab) until a California appeals court rules on the same kind of privacy claim in another case.
All five involve LinkedIn tracking on the organization's own website.

Not alongside Hippo. We take the Insight Tag off your pages, and Hippo sends LinkedIn conversions only from the business pages you choose. Where the tag runs today, keep it off pages that collect or contain sensitive data(opens in a new tab), which can include pages offering specific health services or products to consumers and pages where people manage medical appointments. Depending on the content, it may be included on business-to-business pages(opens in a new tab) aimed only at organizations and healthcare professionals, and which pages qualify is your call to make with your counsel.
From a site-wide Insight Tag, LinkedIn gets the address of each page a visitor with a LinkedIn account opens, with the referrer, the IP address, browser details and the time of the visit, and with Website Actions(opens in a new tab) the tag also records clicks, page visits and form submissions. For a covered entity or business associate, tracking on pages where people log in generally has access to PHI(opens in a new tab). Hippo sends LinkedIn nothing from pages for patients or members. On pages where they log in, Hippo can run under your BAA and count conversions completed there in its own record.
Not by itself. Sending a conversion from a server changes the route and leaves what it carries as it was. LinkedIn's ad terms reach any data you transfer to it, with the Insight Tag as one example. Hippo sends conversions from its server through LinkedIn's Conversions API (CAPI) too, and prevents protected health information from reaching LinkedIn through what it sends: names, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth and IP addresses come off first, and each conversion comes from a business page you choose, under a name that implies no condition, treatment or service.
We do. Whoever controls your domain adds a DNS record for your Hippo subdomain. We install Hippo, take the Insight Tag off your pages, connect Hippo to your LinkedIn ad account and set up its conversions in Campaign Manager. Your agency keeps running the campaigns there.
Yes. LinkedIn also receives data from Microsoft's UET tag(opens in a new tab) and can build conversions from it alone, so LinkedIn still gets data from a site that keeps UET after the Insight Tag comes off. During setup we take the Insight Tag and Microsoft's UET tag off your pages, and take the old conversions for the same actions off your campaigns, including those the tags fed and any that came from a file upload or a CRM connection. Hippo sends your conversions to Microsoft Advertising(opens in a new tab) from its server too.
Your developers can send Hippo a later step from your own server, such as a qualified lead from your CRM, and Hippo forwards it to LinkedIn with no protected health information. Hippo also keeps a record in your account of the demo requests and sign-ups your LinkedIn campaigns produced, by campaign, whatever LinkedIn does with the conversion.
LinkedIn's rule does, whatever your HIPAA status. Its ad terms bar you from sending LinkedIn data you know or should know is sensitive, and data concerning health counts. A company that creates, receives, maintains or transmits PHI(opens in a new tab) for a health plan or provider can be its business associate, with duties of its own under HIPAA(opens in a new tab). Either way, Hippo signs a BAA with every customer and sends LinkedIn conversions only from the business pages you choose, with no protected health information.
Not on pages that collect or contain sensitive data, which for a clinic can include pages offering specific health services or products to patients and pages where patients manage medical appointments. For a careers page, the call is yours to make with your counsel. With Hippo, we take the tag off your pages. No ad pixel or Google tag runs on them. Hippo sends conversions from patient pages to Google Ads(opens in a new tab) and Meta (Facebook)(opens in a new tab) with no protected health information.
